The mesoscopic version of SUMO offers various parameters to adjust a model.
Within the SUMO-documentation an overview of these is provided, though one needs to decide which values should be set.
However, one desires to set adequate values in concrete applications and thereby should be aware of the underlying calculation methods (cf. Eissfeldt).
The goal of this paper is to provide an analysis of the impact of each parameter and possible values of these on a test model.
Within a ''One-at-a-time'' sensitivity analysis (OAT) as well as a combination of settings the fundamental diagrams of each mesoscopic configuration output is compared to the output of a simplified microscopic configuration.
Overall, 120 different mesoscopic configurations, the combination of different parameters and values, are applied onto the model.
The paper introduces different mesoscopic parameters and their values is provided.
Following, the model used for the test setup, named ''testing model", is introduced.
Subsequently, the applied methodology to analyse the parameters is explained and finally the results are provided.
The results of this study should help to (i) select parameters and their values when calibrating a large model and (ii) draw attention to possible unintended side effects.
