In this video, we're going to be exploring the roll the next-generation of AMD graphical architectures will play in the performance of both the Xbox Series X and the Playstation 5.
Given that the next-generation consoles are said to 'only' feature up to 12TFLOPS of compute performance, I have created this video exploring how performance with newer architectures is a lot more than what we are lead to believe simply because of gains in efficiency. We use AMD's RX 5700 and AMD's RX 480 graphics cards, which use the RDNA 1 architecture and Polaris architecture - both sporting the exact same number of Compute Units.
Both the Xbox Series X and PS5 will launch later this year - and we will continue to delve into the graphics technology of both consoles.
