Ion Fury - Noir Fury (v1.0) - 100% playthrough - Maximum Fury
TruckStopSantaClaus has given another gift to the community to play.
(All secrets listed at the bottom of the description.)
Size and length:
-------------------------
- It's medium-sized map with several places to visit, but just one area to focus on at a time.
- So, you shouldn't have problems to figure out, where to go next on this one:
Each time, you will circle back, pointing you towards the next destination.
- Thus, it's rather straightforward map and quick to blast through.
Balance:
--------------
- Somehow, this map feels quite low on enemy numbers, even though they still are able to do their
thing. Just be wary of small rooms.
- Ammunition and health feels sufficient enough. It's not stockpiling you with ammo, but you have
have enough, which is always good balance.
And for health, you can always head for the trash cans for some extra health too, if you've ran over
everything else.
- Armors are kept more on basic level, unless you stumble on a stash.
Details:
------------
- Basic detail-level feels a bit more improved from previous levels, I'd say.
It's nothing crazy, but it's been upped and provides you with fitting visuals.
- Naturally, black & white is the dominant theme going on in here, with a pinch of color here and
there.
It's an interesting choice (especially for a city-theme), that looks quite good too.
But I feel like this could've benefitted from having more shadowy and darker scenes + added
detailing with shadows.
• Shoutout to venetian blinds and the shadows casted by them, when indoors.
I liked that detail.
- Background is also well-done: Not only it's well-scaled, it differs building-by-building with shape
and shade, which adds quite a lot to the feel of a city surrounding.
(Although gaining a vista over the fence lets you see default textures.)
- Safe was like a mini-secret to me: Missed it during the first playthrough, but found on second,
when I ran over it. Safe acted as a small detail, that I personally liked.
- I started to dislike the entrance of the hotel: Coming back out (after picking key) and taking cover
from the spawned mob inside the hotel usually ends up with mobs blocking the door, when they
keep running against it.... It can take even few minutes for them to unblock it.
- As usual, I ended up exiting the level too soon, when there's no visual warning of exiting the map.
Overall:
------------
- Balanced, easy-to-navigate and quite quick map to blast through.
- Black & White color-theme is more unique, although it could've used more darker scenes.
- Detailing feels good.
- Play it: It'll entertain you with the usual Fury-style.
Noteworthy:
-------------------
#1 ( 12:45 ) You can see default texture outside the city, when looking over the fence.
#2 ( 13:13 ) Vent-texture acts up slightly.
#3 ( 13:38 ) These two lamps should be flat against the wall, when used in this manner.
#4 ( 13:51 ) Problem with enemies blocking the door. (cut this clip from first playthrough)
*5 ( 14:49 ) I also noticed map acting a bit in that area. (No effect on gameplay, tho)
*6 ( - ) I'd add visual sign of being close to the exit-line of the level, or a switch.
Secrets:

#1 ( 0:07 )
#2 ( 4:32 )
#3 ( 5:18 )
#4 ( 7:59 )
#5 ( 8:34 + 9:02 )
