Ion Fury - SPYmapsIonFury3 - 100% playthrough with all secrets
0It's time for third one from Spymaps for Ion Fury.
I got to beta-test the previous two versions of this, but I didn't get to test this final (third) version, which was a bit changed from second version.
Naturally, I'm more familiar with this lvl at the time of playing it through, so it was faster to play
through aswell, because of that.
(Timestamps for secrets are near the end of the description.)
Size and length:
-------------------------
- This map is large. (In editor, the map has nearly max amount of walls (16382), almost 8k sprites,
and more than half of the sectors used)
So expect to spend at least half an hour to plow through all of this, most likely an hour or more.
- You might lose a bit of track at times, where to next, but keep your eyes with you and you'll be fine.
(More distant switches come with cameras, so that you don't end up being puzzled.)
- You'll find progression quite smooth in the end and it interconnects back nicely.
Balance:
--------------
- The level should provide all, that you need to get to the end, but you might get into trouble during
a bigger encounter / ambush, if you're too reckless.
- Combat has been upgraded, since previous two levels. You'll find yourself against more mobile
enemies, who come for you and they have upped their group-effort.
They feel more motivated to get you down, so be ready.
Details:
------------
- Ion Fury's most productive custom mapper at this moment.
It's nice to get more to play and you'll see (unless you're blind, of course) the effort, that has been
put forward for the map.
- Details and more details. I like to see different ways to apply details to playable worlds.
It adds to the movement of exploring the areas and spending more time in one place, before
moving to the next place, if it gives you a reason to. (Or you think there's a reason to come back)
This time you'll see, that shadows have been included to add some intricate detail, and that's
a nice thing to witness. Like ( 0:50 )
- The theme seems to be set in as a base found inside of a city.
It feels more consistent with it all blending together.
- While you progress, you find neat little and big things to look at throughout.
• Moving containers
• Laptops, that act as a communication-method and hints of your progress.
• Personally, I also liked the container held in place by a strong magnet.
• The way, how explosions happened, seemed quite satisfying somehow.
• Colorful library
• ...and more.
- I found it funny, how Shelly seems to prefer get really down on flooded metal floor near the start.
Overall:
------------
- Large level with improved fights and lot of different details to marvel at.
- It might stop your progress momentarily, if you don't inspect your surroundings closely enough.
- You get supplied with enough ammo and weaponry to the end, and beyond.
- Secrets were quite easy to find overall, but rewards were kept in-check.
Additionally, the style for few of them were the same, so they became very easy to spot.
- Conclusion: Highly recommendating to play this one.

Small errors:

• The console gets flooded by an error, when starting the map (no negative effects to the map, tho)
• Typo in one of the laptop-messages. Supposed to say 'steal', but it has 'steel' typed in it.

• I'd say, that another message could've been fixed a bit.

To be more like this: "...near you. Take it and..."
Instead of "...near you, take it and..."
• After breaking Heskel-screen underwater, red light is still left behind.
