In this quick and easy tutorial, we show you how to turn the camera flash On or OFF in iOS 26. Control the camera flash by turning the flash ON for low-light photos, turning it OFF to avoid glare, or setting it to AUTO.

The camera flash helps illuminate your subject when taking photos or recording videos in low-light conditions.

How To Enable Camera Flash In iOS 26:

Launch the Camera app on your iPhone. At the top-right corner, tap the Flash icon (⚡ ) with a slash over it.

The flash mode will switch from OFF to AUTO (flash icon with an A on it). this means the flash is ON. The iPhone will automatically determine whether to use the flash based on lighting conditions.

You can also swipe up from the 'Photo' button at the bottom of the Camera viewfinder. You’ll see a camera menu pop up with various options. Tap on the 'FLASH' option to switch between the three camera flash modes.

Yellow flash icon = Flash is ON. Now, the flash will always fire when taking a photo.

Flash icon with A on it = Flash is in AUTO. The flash will fire only if needed.

How To Disable Camera Flash In iOS 26:

At the top-right corner, tap the yellow Flash icon (⚡ ). The flash mode will switch from ON to OFF (flash icon with a slash over it). This means the flash is disabled.

You can also swipe up from the 'Photo' button at the bottom of the Camera viewfinder. You’ll see a camera menu pop up with various options. Tap on the 'FLASH' option to switch between the three camera flash modes.

Gray flash icon with slash over it = Flash is OFF and it will never fire.

Your chosen setting will remain active until you change it again.
