iRacing : S2 2014 Update - The Build of Win

Nothing that was updated in the build is worse. There has been - as of right now - no downtime. It's been smooth as could be, and an early part of the week build as well. New content available for everybody from short track racers to F1 lovers. Almost everyone got some love this build and it shows - typically the forums are full of "new build haters", but it's been very tame compared to past seasons.
Last season GT3 was kind of "by default". But now with every car in P/GT on NTMv5 and with TC (as all 3 cars have it and had it IRL) I can see the participation going up. The Star Mazda is no longer crap. The DP also got updated - haven't tried it yet though.
The McLaren - the car I drove last season - drives better, more consistently. I see it being a truly viable choice now - it's more difficult to drive than the other two GT3s, but in my testing no slower - some will prefer the greater agility and direction change the mid engine gives them. While I haven't tested teh Ruf Track much, in the next race I upload I'm racing with guys in my iRating range in all three GT3s - I'd consider that a decent indication it's much closer now. 3 different cars that all drive differently - that end up with similar lap times. Yes, please.
Oval guys, well, I won't say much as I don't have that much experience with them before or after the update, but I think you will like NTMv5. I will say, it was fun to hop in a Gen 6 and actually have the feeling of downforce - something I never got the impression of in testing on NTMv4. It's not just the Gen 6 cars with NTMv5 - it's the whole NASCAR stable. Goodyear fire sale! Oh, and wheel damage seems to be a lot less unpredictable. Which is a good thing, because I've already inadvertently have proven the 12C GT3 is a tank while the NASCAR cars were made of glass.
