Ironcast: Initial Impressions & Review! (Gameplay & Commentary)
Ironcast is set in an alternative history. It's a time when refined men and women in top hats and bonnets command massive walking war machines known as Ironcasts. In this game you control an Ironcast which is a massive walking vehicle that kills things.
Battles are fought by gathering resources from the puzzle grid in the middle of the screen. Unlocking the resources gives you the opportunity to start using abilities that can damage the oponnents Ironcast or strengthen the defenses on your Ironcast.
The combat is turn based with some RNG, but mostly strategy. The campaign is very interesting as death is permanent but rewards you towards your next gaming session of Ironcast. The game is clearly heavily inspired by the Victorian age, but with a science fiction approach.
Winning battles and missions will unlock upgrades for your Ironcast, as well as different Ironcasts and Heroes. You can modify the Ironcast's weapons and abilities to make it your Ironcast.
