As games get more and more demanding, minimum system requirements are starting to get higher, whether that's because developers are actually utilizing more cores in their games or because of lazy console ports and optimization. Over 45% of PC players are still using dual core CPU's (According to Steam Stats), but is it time to upgrade?

As an advocate for budget PC gaming, a budget build or hardware test will often involve a two core processor, so we've put four to the test ranging in age and price along with a GTX 1060 and 8GB of Ram to maximize their performance and see just how well they hold up.

These are the:
i3 6100
Core 2 Duo E8400
AMD A6 7400K
Pentium G4400

We tested Grand Theft Auto V, Skyrim Remastered and Fallout 4 on screen today as well as Battlefield 1 and Witcher 3 off screen, because although these processors were capable, a couple of them didn't agree with the recording software.

Today's gameplay during discussion is Call of Duty 2.

Thanks for watching :)
