In this video I cover Manjaro Linux and it's suitability as a Linux distribution for gaming.

https://manjaro.org/

Manjaro is developed by the Manjaro team and is based on Arch Linux.
It can be installed officially with the XFCE, KDE and Gnome desktop environments.

Although there are several other ones that available developed by Manjaro community, and there are versions of Manjaro developed for ARM devices such as the Raspberry Pi.

The main advantages of using Manjaro for gaming are as follows:

You will always have the option of installing the latest versions of packages in comparison to other distributions such as Ubuntu.

The latest GPU driver is included on the ISO and will be installed, but you can install the latest proprietary or open-source GPU in once click using the the Hardware Configuration utility.

You can install newer versions of the Linux kernel through the Manjaro kernel application. This is important to ensure compatibility of new hardware.

The main disadvantage of using Manjaro for gaming is that since Manjaro is based on Arch, there is a small chance that packages that you install can break your system.

Although this risk is somewhat mitigated as the Manjaro team will hold back updates a couple of weeks after being released on Arch, so that in theory any potential bugs will be found and fixed before the update is released to the Manjaro repositories.

So in conclusion, Manjaro offers you the best possible gaming experience with the latest versions of drivers, applications and Linux kernels available to be installed but it does require the end user to be mindful of what they are actually doing.

So if given the choice between using Pop OS or Manjaro, personally I would recommend starting with Pop OS if you are new to gaming on Linux, or Linux in general, and once you have got your feet wet, give Manjaro a spin.
