Israel tests the Iron Fist active protection system on the Eitan Combat Vehicle
64The Israeli Ministry of Defense, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), and Elbit Systems have completed a series of tests of the Iron Fist Active Protection System (APS) .
The defense system, which is integrated into the Eitan armored vehicle (AFV) , is capable of countering anti-tank threats in a variety of challenging scenarios.
The Iron Fist system is an advanced active protection system that provides 360-degree protection against multi-range threats in open and urban environments.
The system, the company says, includes an electro-optical sensor suit, a search and track radar, and a reaction suit with launchers and interceptors.
In addition to its defensive capabilities, Iron Fist provides armored combat teams with the location of the fire source.
This system will then be installed on the Eitan and the D9 armored bulldozer.
