ISS (International Space Station) Timelapse: Dubstep Edition
I like many others watched Michael König's time-lapse video, but i kind of wanted to put some other music to the beautiful imagery.
So i decided to go download the high resolution picture packages found on the http://eol.jsc.nasa.gov/ web page. It was quite a painful procedure, their servers where really slow. But in the end i had almost 17GB worth of images on my computer.
I then stitched the individual pictures together with a 0.04s delay, to make the pictures run like video. There are some stuttering here and there, i did not spend time on smoothing the videos out, i wanted to keep them as original as possible. Well almost i did run some denoise on them, but that is pretty much it. I was close to doing some color correction, but in the end i just left them vanilla.
The music is a bit of a odd choice for me, as i pretty much hate Dubstep, it think its rubbish. Sorry to the folks who love it, but i just don't like it. But somehow i like this song, maybe its how mechanical it sounds and the whole Predator theme really helps out too. And also i bet you would rather listen to this track than many of the Metal genre tracks i considered.
The track i use for the video is apparently a remix by a guy called Cyberoptix?, but the original track is done by an artist that calls him self Chrispy.
