17Final Fantasy XVI is an upcoming game that has been eagerly anticipated by fans of the franchise for a long time. Recently, it was revealed in a Famitsu interview that it will take around 70 to 80 hours to earn 100% completion in the game. This is quite a lot of time, but it's not surprising considering how expansive Final Fantasy games tend to be.
The game's director, Hiroshi Takai, and producer, Naoki Yoshida, explained that the base game can be finished in around 35 hours. However, if you want to do everything that Final Fantasy XVI has to offer, you can easily spend double that amount of time. Takai stated that "If we include side content, it can be double that amount." So, while it may take a significant amount of time to fully complete the game, there is plenty to do and explore along the way.
One interesting aspect of Final Fantasy XVI is that Square Enix wanted to ensure that busy players could still reach the end of the game in a reasonable amount of time. Yoshida stated that "gamers these days are really busy with other things, so I wanted them to be able to at least aim to complete the story." Initially, he thought that making the game something you could complete in about 20 hours would make sense, but more and more content was added to the game during development.
