According to tech leaker Moore's Law is Dead (MLID), now is an opportune time to purchase AMD's RX 9070 XT graphics card, as its price has recently dropped from nearly $900 to around $700, nearing its $600 MSRP. This dip is attributed to slow summer sales. However, MLID's retail sources indicate that prices are likely to stabilize at current levels or even increase in the final quarter of 2025.

Several factors are expected to drive these potential price hikes beyond normal seasonal fluctuations. The impending end-of-support for Windows 10 in October 2025 will compel businesses to upgrade to Windows 11, leading to increased demand for new PC hardware, including GPUs. Consumers will also contribute to this demand.

A third contributing factor is the anticipated depletion of pre-tariff component stockpiles during the third quarter of 2025. This combination of increased demand and reduced supply is projected to lead to price increases of 10% to 30% across various tech components, including GPUs. Even if tariffs are removed later in 2025, the lengthy shipping times for electronics mean that any pricing relief would not materialize within the year.

Considering these market dynamics, MLID suggests that July presents a favorable buying window for the RX 9070 XT, especially since recent AMD driver improvements have made the card almost 10% faster than at launch. Despite still being above MSRP, the RX 9070 XT offers better value compared to its rival, the RTX 5070 Ti, which is significantly more expensive. Therefore, while Black Friday deals might not be substantial for GPUs, events like Prime Day could offer better opportunities.
