NVIDIA has released Game Ready & Studio Driver version 577.00, a minor update aimed at optimizing performance for recent games and creative applications. This driver specifically enhances the gaming experience for titles supporting DLSS 4 technology, citing WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers as an example, and provides crucial support for Valorant's transition to Unreal Engine 5.

The update successfully addresses a few notable gaming-specific issues. It resolves a black screen problem in Counter-Strike 2 when players use a 4:3 aspect ratio on ASUS ROG PG27AQN monitors. Additionally, it fixes stability issues in NARAKA BLADEPOINT that occurred on a particular map when using DirectX 11 and DLSS Super Resolution.

However, a range of significant and often long-standing gaming issues persist with driver 577.00. Users still report Cyberpunk 2077 crashing in Photo Mode with path tracing, and Battlefield 2042 continues to display random square artifacts around lights, with a fix anticipated in the upcoming 580 driver branch. Other ongoing problems include ray tracing artifacts in World of Warcraft, distorted text in Counter-Strike 2 at sub-native resolutions, and persistent stability issues in Forza Horizon 5. Older DXVK (x86) applications like GTA IV also continue to experience crashes.

Furthermore, critical features remain unaddressed for newer hardware, such as the missing "GPU Scaling (perform scaling on)" option for Series 50 GPUs and the lack of official "Smooth Motion" support for 40-series cards. Some users are also still encountering black screen issues on boot or waking from sleep, Fortnite crashes on DX12 for 50-series owners, and ray tracing problems in Control on 5000 series cards. The community emphasizes providing detailed feedback to NVIDIA and performing clean driver installations to help resolve these ongoing challenges.
