To help answer that question, ITU has published two new reports:

🔹 The Annual AI Governance Report 2025: Steering the Future of AI — a two-part study that maps the global state of AI governance and provides 10 actionable hashtag#recommendations from our co-chairs. (Report produced in partnership with the Oxford Martin AI Governance Initiative of the University of Oxford).

🔹 AI Standards for Global Impact: From Governance to Action — launched following AI Standards Day, this report looks at the hashtag#standardization requirements for pressing issues like hashtag#deepfakes, brain-computer interfaces, hashtag#quantum technologies, hashtag#misinformation, and more.

These resources provide both a snapshot of where the world stands and practical tools to move from principles to implementation.
