James Bond The Duel Playthrough (SEGA GENESIS/MEGA DRIVE) (DEATHLESS)
My neighbors had this game and at the time I had only played 007 Goldeneye on N64, so to discover that there was 007 game on Sega was very exciting for me. But I was very confused at who that Bond was on the cover....that wasn't Pierce Brosnan from Goldeneye. I wasn't exactly aware of how long the series had been around for and did not know at the age of 8 yrs old that there was more than one James Bond actor lol. At the time I sucked at this game and my friend wasn't a whole lot better but he had much better luck than I did. I remember that the 2nd level was near impossible for us to beat and I think we only ever beat it once or twice. I managed to find a used copy in a pawn shop years later for about $10 if I can remember correctly and I was quite happy to have found it since it had been a long while since I last played it. Once I did get down to playing it I found it not as hard as I remember it being. Sure the jumping controls are still a bit floaty but the rest of the game works out nicely. And having the inclusions of some fan-favorite villains (Jaws, oddjob, Baron Samedi and Mayday) was a nice touch as well. The game is very short and once you know where all the babe-hostages are it makes the game MUCH easier and forgiving....since you don't get a lot of lives and only a continue or two if I can recall. I will say though the music stands out in a BIG way for me and it stands as having one of my favorite soundtracks on the console. Overall its a fun game that thoroughly enjoy revisiting every so often. Its total forgotten gem in my books and if you can find a copy I'd recommend picking it up if its a good price but it is rather rare these days sadly. This was also done on an actual cartridge as well.
Hope You Enjoy!
