Well it stands that when I discovered that there was TMNT game on Sega that was very similar to Turtles In Time on SNES I knew that I had to play it and get it ASAP. Well I found a copy not too long afterwards coincidentally. The stupid thing was that no one could get the cartridge to work. So instead of opening it up and maybe cleaning it up and polishing up the connector pins I took my frustrations out on it instead and ended chopping it in half with a hatchet out of pure frustration that it didn't work and therefore I couldn't play my new discovery.........WHAT A STUPID MOVE THAT WAS!
Not only was it VERY likely that the game could have been repaired I had no idea how rare and sought-after the game was either. Probably the stupidest thing I HAVE EVER DONE when I think about all the Sega games I've found or passed up over the years. Anyways...I did score another copy and when I first started doing playthrough videos of old favorites this one came up nearly right away. Having beaten it a couple times I decided that a friend and I should give it a go. So we plugged it in and hit record. This was a "first take" playthrough warts n' all. We just wanted to have some fun initially and then if we decided that it was a really rough go we could always redo it. I felt that perhaps maybe we should have, be but my buddy insisted it'd be more amusing and cool to have "rough around the edges" video instead of a text-book perfect run. Oh well...it is what is. Maybe down the road I'll do it again but I do kinda agree that its fun for us to look back at it of us just having fun. The game itself is very similar to the SNES one but different in areas too. Different levels, different bosses and noticeably more difficult too. Still awesome all the way through though too! I hope you enjoy our little "rough around the edges" playthrough (I don't have many of those uploaded to be honest) and who knows...maybe I will do it again one day. But this one remains a fun little snapshot for us hence it stays! This was done on an actual cartridge as well.
