On the Framesavers podcast last year (one of my favorite podcasts), I got the chance to ask SpikeVeteta, an AGDQ organizer, about the idea of featuring a shmup at AGDQ in the future (like 2020) :-D. I'm not sure if this was an influencing factor on the decision to accept Gusto's Futari run, but I kind of hope it is considering all the time I spent pestering speedrunners about shmups at the event ha.
