Haunted House is a pop-up book story first published in 1979 by child's author and illustrator, Jan Pieńkowski with help from Jane Walmsley as assistant illustrator and Tor Lokvig’s paper engineering.

The book itself is only 6 page spreads long with minimal text. The real adventure is experienced throughout the pop-ups and watching the scene move every time you advance to the next page. The haunted house is filled with monsters, strange occurrences and sightings.

In 1995, Haunted House was given a digital update and brought to PC and Mac. More frights, scares and adventure for anyone brave enough to enter the Haunted House. Players had to locate 6 keys throughout the house by activating and exploring every inch of the haunted house before they could access the cellar.

Once in the cellar, an entire scene designed just for the video game, the player finally had the opportunity to uncover the final key to unlock the front door and escape.
