Jared VS Patchouli Knowledge - Lunatic + Extra Perfect HD (No Misses/Bombs, All Shot Types)
...Featuring the Green Books and later Satori! ^o^
This is all of the Patchouli fights without losing any lives, using any bombs, and capturing every Spell Card/nonspell.
This character and her boss fights are so far beyond the realm of wicked, it's actually pretty insane. Patchouli is an intense fight, with tricky barrages of bullets and an intimidating theme that matches her flawlessly. Depending on your shot type and character choice, her Spell Cards will vary wildly, and very few of them I would classify as "easy." These fights were all performed at the maximum in-game rank of 32, done without losing any lives or using any bombs. All attacks have also been captured, hence this being a "Full Spell" run.
In order of Spell Card appearance:
ReimuA gets Agni Shrine High Level, Trilithon Shake, Lava Cromlech, Mercury Poison, and Forest Blaze.
ReimuB gets Bury In Lake, Green Storm, Water Elf, Mercury Poison, and Emerald Megalith.
MarisaA gets Sylphy Horn High Level, Agni Radiance, Forest Blaze, Emerald Megalith, and Lava Cromlech...ouch.
MarisaB gets Lazy Trilithon High Level, Silver Dragon, Emerald Megalith, Water Elf, and Mercury Poison.
In my opinion, from easiest to hardest: ReimuA / MarisaB / ReimuB / MarisaA
ReimuA's fight is fairly tricky, but manageable enough. Lava Cromlech is the only real problem here, with Agni Shrine High Level and Mercury Poison being hard but fair enough. Trilithon Shake - along with Forest Blaze - are rather easy, to be honest. The real problem with this fight is actually your low damage output, otherwise it's by far the least threatening of the four fights.
MarisaB's fight starts off the easiest, since Lazy Trilithon High Level and Silver Dragon are only so difficult. However, immediately after that you're pit up against Emerald Megalith, Water Elf, and Mercury Poison, a nasty combination of spells to have to deal with. Her damage and spread are both fine enough.
ReimuB's fight starts off fairly tough with Bury In Lake and Green Storm, and it doesn't get any easier since she also gets the last three spells from MarisaB's fight. Pretty damn hard overall, thankfully your damage and spread are both great here.
MarisaA's fight, on the other hand, is a fucking nightmare. Sylphy Horn High Level is brutal, being even harder than ReimuB's Green Storm, which is supposed to be the ultimate version of this move. It's dense, good at pushing you away, and an absolute menace in general. Agni Radiance is basically Agni Shrine High Level, except now you also have to be mindful of the giant bubble bullets. As if those weren't bad enough, she even gets both Lava Cromlech and Emerald Megalith! Forest Blaze and your insane damage output are the only things that make this fight possible, sweet lord of lard...
Patchouli in the Extra Stage (someone please turn that into a song I can buy on Spotify) is actually rather doable. Silent Selene is annoying since Patchy likes to veer away all the time, but otherwise it's mostly fine.
Royal Flare requires routing and seems really difficult, but in practice it's surprisingly manageable, borderline pathetic with MarisaA's ludicrous damage output.
Lastly, Philosopher's Stone has a specific pattern of movement for each bullet color, which makes it somewhat insane. Blue is aimed, red is random, green drifts left, yellow changes direction once, silver is aimed together, and FUCK MY HEAD HURTS! It can be done with some practice, but until then it can be a bit of a wall.
Satori stole the cute librarian's attacks! Mercury Poison is more or less the same damn thing, perhaps marginally worse if at all. Keep your eyes peeled and you've got this one in the bag.
On the other hand, remember ReimuB's hellish Normal-exclusive Spell Card Princess Undine? Well, for whatever reason Satori chose to snatch that version of Bury In Lake instead, and it's absolutely hellish. The lasers are aimed and the bullets are on another level of dense...watch your back, practice sufficiently, and you should be relatively alright.
Philosopher's Stone looks dramatically more flamboyant, but otherwise it's the same idea. Blue is aimed, red is random, green drifts left, yellow changes direction once, silver is aimed together, and this description is way too long.
Also, fuck the books. There's no strategy for them, no safespots, no tricks whatsoever. Just be skilled enough to handle the onslaught and pray for optimal RNG. Yahoo! ^o^
