At the 43rd annual Easter Jeep Safari a decade and a half ago, the Jeep team introduced the Wrangler Lower 40, a standout model noted for its radical changes. It was set at a standard height to keep it steady but stood out with its huge 40-inch tires designed for muddy terrain and was powered by a robust 5.7-liter V-8 engine. This blend of off-road ability and power made it a hit, and even after fifteen years, it remains a celebrated concept among Jeep enthusiasts.

The newest concept from Jeep, named the Low Down, tips its hat to the famous Lower 40 by adding even bigger 42-inch tires by BFGoodrich, designed for rough terrain, mounted on 20-inch wheels with a beadlock feature, all thanks to smart modifications to allow for tire space. This design keeps the original suspension of the Wrangler Rubicon 392 but steps up its game with Dana 60 axles and 5.38 gears, boosting its ability to handle tough terrains while keeping a low center of gravity for better movement and obstacle navigation.

The Low Down makes its mark with a striking Poison Apple Red color, a streamlined body by doing away with the rear door handles, and adding a custom carbon hood featuring a see-through power dome, plus a race-style fuel door that's one of a kind. The interior boasts plush custom black leather seats with fabric patches, floors lined with tough Rhino material, and a dash simplified by the removal of the radio. It also has a unique red-tinted cover that adds a special touch to the cabin.

Echoing the legacy of the Lower 40, the Low Down comes with a powerful V-8 engine. This time, it's a 475-horsepower 6.4-liter 392 V-8 engine coupled with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, merging the classic Jeep toughness with a modern twist on performance and design.

Shifting focus to the Jeep Willys Dispatcher Concept, this design marries Jeep's rich history with its vision for the future. Drawing inspiration from the Wrangler 4xe, this concept nods to the early civilian Jeeps known for their sturdy and utilitarian design while embracing the advanced electric capabilities of the 4xe's system.

From the ground up, the Willys Dispatcher offers a modern take on a classic style. It rides on Super Traxion 36-inch tires on alloy wheels that nod to the old steel wheel designs. Its front bumper is custom-built with a throwback style and comes with a modernly designed yet retro-looking 8274 Warn winch, showcasing the Warn Epic Series hook and D rings. The hood features the iconic WILLYS inscription, and the windshield header's gloss black finish stylishly contrasts with the body's unique Element 115 Green paint, complemented by cream-colored wheels.

Inside, the Dispatcher blends old-school charm with contemporary elements, featuring distressed saddle leather and houndstooth fabric inserts. It revives the classic Jeep seating style by removing the headrests for a vintage look. A Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) cover provides protection from the elements, while a durable JPP vinyl floor covering helps keep the cabin clean. An essential JPP air compressor is also included for adjusting tire pressures on the go.

Under its hood, the Dispatcher is powered by a 2.0-liter plug-in hybrid 4xe system, delivering 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque through an eight-speed automatic transmission. This power is efficiently managed by Dana 50 Advantech axles at both ends, ensuring the vehicle's impressive grip and performance in any situation.
