Jeff Minter interview - Behind Black Mirror Bandersnatch - Skrolli @ Assembly 2019
19The British game developer Jeff Minter made surprising appearance in the Netflix movie Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. Minter played Jerome F. Davies, the author of the titular Bandersnatch novel. The Bandersnatch itself has has surprising story behind, as it was originally a real game being created in UK for the 8 bit machines.
Jeff interviewed at the Skrolli magazine stage by Finnish games journalist Jukka O. Kauppinen about Bandersnatch and his role in the movie. What led Minter to the interactive silver screen and what was the best part in the experience?

Jeff Minter (born in 22 April 1962 in Reading) is an independent British video game designer and programmer who often goes by the name Yak. He is the founder of software house Llamasoft and has created dozens of games during his career, which began in 1981 with games for the Sinclair ZX80. Minter's games are often arcade style shoot 'em ups which contain titular or in-game references demonstrating his fondness of ruminants (llamas, sheep, camels, etc.). Many of his programs also feature something of a psychedelic element, as in some of the earliest "light synthesizer" programs including Trip-a-Tron.
Minter's works include the music visualisation program Neon (2004) which is built into the Xbox 360 console, and the video games Gridrunner, Attack of the Mutant Camels, Tempest 2000, and Polybius.
Bandersnatch
In December 2018 Minter appeared in the film Black Mirror: Bandersnatch where he played Jerome F. Davies, the author of the titular Bandersnatch novel who murdered his wife.
