This is the second of my Pikmin 2 cave music, Jellyfloat Pool. It plays on tile-theme sublevels with Jellyfloats. It's a very ethereal-sounding song, which I think fits perfectly with those little bastards that suck up your Pikmin all the time.

This one was particularly challenging because it's quite hard to replicate the "wah-wah" effect of the main instrument on the Wave channel which has basically no volume control. It basically only has vibrato and I kept changing it back and forth so it sounded just right. For the treasure mix, the original song adds a new track but obviously couldn't do that, so I just had to replace the original instrument with another one. The remaining instruments were relatively straightforward and I was quite shocked the enemy mix sounded as good as it did with the very strong vibrato. I'm not too happy with the battle mix, but it is the best I could do.

Pikmin 2 music is very dynamic and changes depending on the game situation; these include adding new instruments depending on what you are doing in-game and which captain is being controlled. Cave music in particular is also randomized, with the game choosing pre-determined phrases for most instruments according to some rules and also some randomness. Naturally, all the variations are cumbersome to capture in a single video, so this video includes 5 versions that change every loop: normal, working, carrying treasure, near enemy, and battle; they are all Olimar's versions. The melodic phrases presented are also randomized.
