When repressed bank clerk, Stanley Ipkiss (Jim Carrey), becomes one with 'The Mask', apocryphally created by Loki, the Norse god of night and mischief, he taps into his cartoon-fuelled subconscious. Hence the conspicuous influence from Tex Avery.

Black Pearl Software's SNES game, published in 1995, is loosely based upon the movie that preceded it, in turn, inspired by the 1987 Dark Horse comic.
