Hello, and thank you for watching, this video may be a little lengthy for some, but, it's so great that I had to give it a proper recommendation.
This is a superbly written, and thoroughly well researched book that has a timeless quality to it.
It's a must read for anyone into theological books, or anyone who's perhaps not a Christian yet but is interested in the Christian faith etc...
The books covers everything related to the Cross of Christ, and answers questions like why Jesus had to die, and the fallen state of mankind.

I myself haven't read this book all the way through, but have read it in chunks, picking out which chapter I was interested in at the time.
Anyone, and I mean anyone who reads this book will have no choice but to admit it's excellently written, even if they don't end up becoming Christians themselves.
Indeed, there are many people who would gain a better understanding of the Christian faith if they read this work, Amen.
There are other books on theology out there of course, but none come to my mind that have stood the test of time, as well as John Stott's The Cross Of Christ.

(Took from chapter 1 page 25)
*We sing the praise of him who died,
Of him who died upon the cross;
The sinner's hope let men deride,
For this we count the world but loss.

When I survey the wondrous cross,
On which the Prince of glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.

Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
Save in the cross of Christ my God;
All the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to his blood.
