180The John Wick franchise may be the very best action franchise out there today. It is a true work of art in the action movie genre. The story of master assassin John Wick getting back into the complex world of suited assassins around the world is one of the most epic stories playing out on the screen today. Most of this comes down to the incredible action sequences that are much faster and more tightly choreographed than anything you might see in other films. It’s a true masterclass in how to do action right. So how do these legendary stunts work?
For starters, it requires a ton of preparation. You would not believe how much time is taken to make sure all of the action scenes are properly choreographed before the actors spend months training to make the scenes look as realistic as possible. Of course, it’s not all real. Many of the sequences feature CGI that’s so great you probably never realized that what you were looking at wasn’t real.
The best special effect is without a doubt Keanu Reeves. He is the secret ingredient that makes the entire series work. His level of skill is so great that it’s hard to see how the series would even exist without him. Though there are times when even he gets replaced by a stunt performer. What could be so dangerous that even Keanu Reeves wouldn’t do it? It has to be very scary indeed to keep Keanu away.
