Greetings Humanoids of the Intarwebs! My name is Bob, and this is why it might be a short while before my next episode of Journey Into Space. My space program has gotten... rather more complicated lately. ;)

THE LONG SAGA OF KETHANE TRANSPORT IN NEAR-KERBIN SPACE

Okay, so we started out with Space Freighter 01, which was a ginormous manatee of a multipurpose rocket, which wound up having a kethane extraction problem. So it was replaced by Space Freighter 02, which was a ginormous manatee of a multipurpose rocket with a fixed extraction problem, but while it did fine at ferrying between Minmus and Kerbin (aside from a truly epic lag problem), it really couldn't deliver any kethane effectively to Kerbin orbit.

Enter the Robotic Kethane Freighter 01:

And on the sixth day BOB said that it was good. However, it still probably can only deliver half of its cargo of kethane to Kerbin orbit, the other half having to be utilized for fuel. So I am thinking, liking to complicate things to truly byzantine levels as a regular thing,

"why don't I have this guy just shuttle up to Munar orbit from the surface, and have a dedicated lean super-efficient freighter to take the kethane from Munar orbit to Kerbin orbit?"

Hence....

...wait for it...


...the Ion Kethane Freighter 01.

*sigh*

Okay, and all of this rigamarole is for two purposes, to tank up my upcoming Ike colonization, and perhaps what will have a larger role in future episodes, tank up my Grand Tour spacecraft, the Splorotron, which will seek to travel to all the planets in the solar system.

Until such time as 0.19 comes out, at which time EVERYTHING GETS SCRAPPED and we start completely over. ;)
