Part 8 - Teratomo And The True Ending
In this episode we pick up where we died last time, and complete the shock fruit challenge to turn on the second spire. With that, we are able to finally enter the tower, and find out what secrets are hiding a the bottom. Inside, we find some technology, and pulsing orifices that are a little stinky, but also deadly. We soon learn that this place is operating like a giant vaultivore and each room has a few yellow pustules we need to shoot in order to free the elevator to head lower. We do this a few times, fighting enemies, and scanning interesting objects, until we finally reach the bottom and learn what happened to the previous explorer before us. Teratomo, the adventurer we read about taking his helmet off and living here, has turned into a giant blob and is now the final boss. We jump around shooting his various glowing spots, until his tongue flops out and we try and yank the core thing out of his mouth. He suddenly wakes up, and swallows us, and the credits roll. But after the credits, we awake fine, and have the mysterious artifact in hand, so we can bring it back to the Javelin and unlock the true ending. This involves "finishing our mission" which includes collecting and scanning everything to document the planet 100%. We do this off camera, and return to the Javelin, to finally venture home. We are treated to a congratulations message from Kindred Aerospace, but for us, this isn't the end of this game, as we still have the DLC to start, next time.
