In an attempt to finally learn Atari Basic, I've created a tiny joystick painting program to teach myself about graphics and joystick control. (though I do confess to stealing that elegant joystick detection bit) The stick draws, button changes color, and space bar erases the scene. Kind of like a 3-color etch-a-sketch.
I'm on day 4 of learning Basic. My fancy Basic game design books haven't arrived yet, so right now it's just me and the old Basic Reference Manual. I keep thinking of new upgrades for this program like keypresses to set colors and Touch Tablet support, but they'd overly complicate a simple one-screen program.
