Just Cause 3 RRCRTC - Insula Striate (Uncut Gameplay) - 1/2
The "Rico Rodriguez Cosplayer Re-Takeover Challenge" is a modded game challenge that starts on a modded save file with an altered control scheme and has everything completed but all settlements re-oppressed, and there's several limiting mods included.
You start on Insula Striate with very bad weapons, and the following limitations:
- One-hit deaths. Rico's health is literally capped at one. Aside from pure ragdoll and hard feet-first landings, all sources of damage, even the fire on burning things, will instantly kill you. A funny side effect of this is that nearby Rebels will constantly ask you if you're doing okay, voice lines that are otherwise hard to hear.
- Can't throw beacons! You just can't. No Cheese 4 U!
- Parachute, wingsuit, the grappler, and stunting on vehicles while you're controlling them have been disabled.
The goal of the challenge is to liberate the entire map, creating a Hitman-like experience where it's a good idea to start learning this game's surprisingly advanced stealth mechanics that very few players pay attention to, as well as learning all the game's screw-you mechanics you'll never see while flying around in the air, such as corpses reviving to shoot at you or enemies going invisible.
From a past challenge where I did this except not one-hit and where I had the parachute only, I concluded that the entire map could be liberated except for two towns in Insula Fonte... however this has grown to four towns, the reason being the monitoring stations. For all the others, you can land choppers on each roof and press the buttons before the time runs out. Unfortunately, with these four, they're not possible because:
1. There's 6 stations each.
2. Their timers are less than half of all the other timers.
3. Some of the stations are on parts of roofs you can't land on with a chopper. If there was one of these in a set, I could jump out of the chopper to the last one, but they all have at least 2 examples of this.
Because of this, I leave only those 4 sets of monitoring stations intact. In order for this to be possible, someone would have to either discover a way to deactivate them remotely, or some way to seriously glitch out the game into thinking that the timer lasts for 10 hours and make it so if you leave and come back, ones you've deactivated are still deactivated. Unfortunately no known glitch like this exists, timers are a solid mechanic.
This video contains the first half of me liberating Insula Striate and all the re-oppressable DLC areas, as YouTube wouldn't let me upload the whole thing.
