6So, early last month, I released a song with no warning, no promotion, and no video. However, a few days after it came out, I did film the music video... and proceeded to be lazy and not even edit it for a further nineteen days... and then proceeded to wait until exactly a month after the song itself came out for the video to come out, and that's exactly how we got to where we are today. Yeah... I took a little too long to get to putting out a music video for Kaleidoscope, but it's finally here! In all it's... boring... glory?
Yeah, this is not my strongest music video. I've got a lot to learn when it comes to making music videos, and that's probably where most of my focus in the future will lie, but in general the video is not terrible, just boring. This is the kind of thing you listen to, not watch. Then again, I'm not trying to make something to watch, this is all about my music.
Anyway, I've been sitting on this track actually since January. Both other members of my former band for which I'm now just a producer for got COVID, and while they were off sick, I began writing this piece as a little homage to some of my favorite Periphery stuff. So you have a structure similar to Reptile, a "djent" riff similar to Absolomb, and then towards the end of it, I wanted to do some Jason Richardson style stuff, and threw in some solos and lead lines. So, a big, old, confusing mishmash of ideas with a small amount of coherence, hence it's name... it's better than Experience Nothingness which was its working title.
I'll hopefully have another track out next month which actually will have some vocal performance from me on it! I've been practicing and actually have a solid scream in my arsenal, just have to work it out a little bit and write vocals for the track. Hope to see you guys for that, but we grow ever closer to the return of covers. They'll start in September. So for now, I'll see you guys soon!
