Kaleidoscope Map Rework Battlefield 2042 - Original Vs Reworked Comparison Update 1.2
18Last week I thought I'd just fly a helicopter over the old version of Kaleidoscope so that I could look at the changes and compare what had been done to the map. When the map was released this week, I noticed a lot of people saying hardly anything had been done to the map. Having flown over it again this week after the changes, it is clear that a lot of changes have happened over the whole map, it's just some are more obvious than others.
Anyway, I needed a bit of a break from the editor so after I got the footage I thought it might be interesting to compare the old map with the rework a bit more constructively. I thought some people might like to look at the video I grabbed and see the changes for themselves.
I think the problem with not seeing the changes is that fundamentally the map is the same as it was, and the big changes are obvious because, well they are big changes.
But if you watch this video you will notice hundreds of changes that are less obvious, from changes to foliage and cover to bug changes in ground undulation and rock formations.
When you view these maps from the air and take the time to really pay attention to the detail in an empty server, some of the detail is really quite amazing and it is easy to see what they were going for.
Anyway, I captured tons of footage of the old Kaleidoscope map, including on foot of old areas vs new areas, but this felt like the best way to do an overview.
If you are looking at the new kaleidoscope map in the coming few weeks, check out the changes to the interiors - there has been some big changes there not covered by air and many do help add to the cover as well as the feel of the map.
