Kanon Boueigun (or Kanon Defense Force), presented by Hachimitsu-Kumasan and developed by various factions, is basically just an edited version of Touhou Defense Force (東方防衛軍) by the same developers, using Kanon characters and with slightly modified/improved character mechanics, phrases, weapons and graphics. The music was also obviously changed to Kanon-themed tunes. It's the harder of the two games to find, though from a technical standpoint (and as stated by those who developed it), both games are nearly identical.

It's a simple and fun doujin game where you can log in dozens of hours due to its large degree of unlockable content. There are several characters to unlock with various challenges and rewards earned for playing each difficulty, and characters can gain level-ups, which improves their stats ever so slightly as well as unlocks new special abilities (on a per-character basis) when you reach certain levels. The idea is simply to destroy all enemies using character-based strategies, which may consist of using weak wide-spread fire to wear enemies down, powerful short range attacks,attacks that can go through buildings (so use buildings to slow them down), etc. It features simple visuals and good Kanon-themed music, though the editing is a bit lazy.
