As you can see, I turned the PS3's smoothing feature on. I don't usually, but sometimes it really does improve the visuals, especially in text-heavy games.

Kartia is a solid strategy-RPG with character designs by Yoshitaka Amano of Final Fantasy fame. This game tends to get mixed reviews. Some gamers rather disliked it, while other rate it relatively high 8/10 territory. So while it's definitely not going to dethrone games like Final Fantasy Tactics, or Vandal Hearts, it's a solid Strategy RPG for those willing to give it a chance.

Kartia's battle system is designed around the ability to summon 'Phantoms," or monster allies to help you in each battle. I have played relatively far into this game in the past, and I do remember liking it. It was never top tier in my book, but for an under-the-radar RPG, I remember thinking it was pretty good. Perhaps a tier or two below the top offerings on the PS1 in this sub-genre, but still worth playing. Definitely not the best, but not the worst either. Lower tier from the top, but still worth playing.
