Kate Middleton's 'black sheep' uncle Gary Goldsmith 'is read the riot act' by Princess of Wales's 'infuriated' mother over fears he could spill royal secrets on Celebrity Big Brother, with sources saying it could embarrass The Firm
Kate Middleton's 'black sheep' uncle Gary Goldsmith has been scolded by the Princess of Wales's parents after reportedly signing up to Celebrity Big Brother amid fears he could spill secrets about the Royal Family, sources have claimed.
The outspoken businessman, who is the brother of Kate's mother Carole Middleton, was today spotted picking up some last-minute shopping ahead of the celebrity edition of the series returning to our screens after a six-year absence.
It's been rumoured that Goldsmith, 58, has secured a substantial deal with ITV bosses to go on the show which begins on Monday night.
His appearance in the Big Brother house will no doubt cause another headache for The Firm amid speculation about Kate's whereabouts as she continues to recover from abdominal surgery.
It also comes as King Charles continues treatment for cancer and the Royal Family mourns the loss of Thomas Kingston, the husband of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent's daughter Lady Gabriella Windsor.
An insider told The Sun: 'Gary said he's been read the riot act by Kate's mum Carole and her dad Michael.
'They aren't happy he's going into Celebrity Big Brother. It is infuriating to them. Kate doesn't need this stress.'
The source claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan - who Goldsmith has attacked in the past - could be in the firing line.
The source said that 'black sheep' Goldsmith did not have his family's blessing to go into the house but is doing it anyway. The businessman is understood to have told friends that he won't do anything to hurt Kate or William.
In photos obtained by The Mirror, Goldsmith was spotted trying on a selection of smart suits at swanky tailor Kerrs in London's Soho district before leaving with them in a garment bag.
Possibly in a nod to his famous niece, the brand has previously made numerous outfits for the Princess, according to the publication.
The Sun also pictured Goldsmith arriving at the ITV studios in London on Sunday ahead of his rumoured entrance into the house. He was seen leaving a black Audi with a suitcase and was wearing a navy cap, jeans, a grey hoodie and a leather jacket.
He walked into the building with two silver suitcases and a suit carrier.
Goldsmith attempted to gain a spot on I'm A Celebrity last year, but was turned down over concerns it could embarrass William and Kate.
He previously spoke out against Harry and Meghan after the release of Spare and is known for his 'outspoken' opinions on the couple.
Royal experts have previously criticised the decision to welcome him into the Celebrity Big Brother house – calling the move 'embarrassing' and possibly 'dangerous' to the royal family during a testing period.
