Wild life info provided by park.
(2:16) The birds area.
We start with the Harris Hawk enjoying a meal. Is a medium sized bird of prey found in the southwestern United States south to Chile, central Argentina and south Brazil. They like small mammals, birds, lizards and large insects.
Next, we move to catch the Great Horned Owl which is one of the largest Owls in North and South America. It uses it's night vision and strong grip to hunt rodents, rabbits, birds and small mammals during the hours of darkness.
Of course, the Turkey Vulture. Always there when we go to animal related places. Found in North America and from south Mexico to South America, these scavengers use their eyesight and sense of smell to zoom in on animal carcasses.
The Emu is a bird second in size to the Ostrich, and are only found in Australia. Can run up to 35 MPH and like grass, bugs, seeds, fruits, buckwheat and tiny animals.
(3:45) Other wild life area.
Found in South America, the Llama is an intelligent and social animal with a wool very soft and lanolin-free. They like mountain vegetation.
Also from South America, the Alpaca is known for their fiber. Used to make a variety of clothing as well as textiles, ponchos and bedding items. Mainly like hay and grasses.
From the Sahara Desert and Arabian Peninsula comes the Dromedary Camel. It's single, 80 pound fat storage capable hump, allows it to travel up to a formidable 100 miles in desert lands! They are herbivores.
(5:31) The cats area.
Bobtcats are telling loners. They live in a variety of terrain types from southern Canada to central Mexico to include most of the US. Rabbits and Hares are their favorites.
Bengal and Orange Bengal Tigers. These dominant and carnivorous predators have the largest canine teeth of all subspecies. From India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Burma, they are on the lookout for larger animals to hunt.
The Siberian Tiger, mostly from the southeast region of Russia, is second to none in size, and resides at the top of the food chain. Unfortunately, these elk, boar, bear and deer hunters are an endangered species.
Finally, the Liger is a hybrid between a male lion and a female tiger! Since their habitats don't overlap, they live only in captivity. They can grow up to twice their parents, making them the largest of cats! They eat beef, and lots of it!
(7:45) The Primates area.
White Faced Capuchin. Found from Central to South America. Known for creating tools for use as weapon and to get foot. Can jump up to 9 feet! They know how to catch frogs and crack nuts.
Brown Capuchin is also intelligent, but very wary of birds of prey. They find comfort and security on high trees during the night. Can eat fruits, vegetation, eggs, insects, frogs lizards, small birds and bats.
Finally, the Bonnet Macaque. A member of the Old World monkeys. An excellent swimmer that inhabits wet and dry evergreen forests. Similar diet to Capuchins.
