Keynote - What Did We Change with Games?
Ian Bogost, Professor & Director, Washington University in St. Louis / Founding Partner, Persuasive Games
It’s been two decades since the launch of the Serious Games Initiative and Games for Change. Ian’s studio, Persuasive Games, is now that old, too, and his book of the same title is 15 (Edutainment, learning games, political games, and many other fellow travelers are even older). It made him wonder: what was it they were going to change with these games? Did they succeed? In this talk, a 20-year veteran of this space reflects on the unrealized promises of the sector, and what it means for the future.
