Kid Icarus Uprising is a simply phenomenal game, easily the best available on the 3DS in my opinion. So much so that the game simply has too much content for me to commentate over without constantly interrupting so many sections of absolutely fantastic dialogue. As such, this is the first LP I do that's going to have two versions. One with commentary, one without. Every time I record a part, I'm going to first upload the raw version. The next upload shall be in traditional LP format, alternating back and forth from there. I hope this allows those of you who don't have the 3DS just for this one game to enjoy the experience unaltered in as good of quality as I can present short of direct video feed.

My capture setup is as follows: I have an audio cable that comes from the Line Input port of my computer directly into the Line Output port of my 3DS. This allows me to capture the audio directly from the game. No loss whatsoever in quality as I use none of the audio recorded via camera. The camera is an HD Camcorder that I spend about fifteen minutes setting up so as to have as good of quality as possible.

The only unfortunate casualty of this setup is that I'm unable to capture the bottom screen (it's a horse a piece since it'd have my stylus in the way almost constantly anyway). Basically, when you hear the characters speak, illustrations showing the speaker's expressions and reactions pop up on the touch screen. Other things such as eight-bit references to the original Kid Icarus game are fun little things as well. The story is told in VERY VERY few cutscenes and mostly throughout the action of the game instead. It might make it a little bit difficult for you to discern each character's voice at first without the bottom screen, but trust me, they're lovable enough that I'm sure you'll be able to identify them yourselves eventually.

I also apologize in advance for the very slight movements that the screen makes once or twice in the recording; I try to adjust these in Vegas. I need to find some way of keeping it 100% stationary and still use the stand the game came with.

I hope you all enjoy the first episode, and stay tuned soon for the first actual LP piece.
