Alot of people think Xaldin is the hardest boss in the game, whilst undeniably one of the most difficult I found a few others harder in this challenge.

I was on the verge of acing how to avoid his attacks, I still hadn't got down his 3rd phase winds attack and that was the only attack that was dangerous that I hadn't learnt, I just had to get the timing right to jump it.

There's 3 phases to this boss in increasing difficulty:

Phase 1
The easiest phase, he'll just walk at you and when he gets close he'll pull back then stab you, as soon as he pulls back then Guard whilst spamming triangle to get as many jumps from him as you can, straight after the reaction command dissapears start attacking him then when you run out of jumps and finish off with air combo and run as far back as you can, depending on the damage you've done he'll either repeat phase 1 or go into phase 2, if he starts phase 1 again then he'll be higher in the air so let him walk down a little before blocking his attack again otherwise you won't get the reaction command unless you jump which wastes some time and you won't get as many jumps out of him.

Phase 2
He starts off by sliding at you extremely fast then stabbing you with an extremely fast attack, if you're far away then he'll be no where near hitting you but if you're pretty close then avoiding it is hard, either just spam guard or keep aerial dodging and hope for the best or you could hit block as soon as you see him start to slide as long as you have good reflexes, after that attack then he'll start teleporting down from the sky onto your position, you know where and when he's about to attack by some wind trails that appear, just do a quick aerial dodge whilst spamming triangle to avoid them and get jumps from him, when the lances start spinning around you then keep running and soon after they dissapear (You can do it straight after but could be hit by 1 of the 4 waves) aerial dodge and you should be clear of the shockwave and the 4 waves.

Phase 3
You know when he starts this phase as he'll use his invincible combo, just keep aerial dodging away from him to avoid it, if you're too close to a wall then you're screwed, to avoid the dragon then when Xaldin jumps on it it'll go forward then turn around, when it turns around and the head of the dragon goes over the side of the bridge start aerial dodging from 1 side of the bridge to the other (Easiest done from left to right from locking onto the dragons persective and a better chance of taking less damage if you mess it up), if done right you won't take any damage at all, if you're on the right side of the bridge you need to start running to the other side earlier, if you don't want to risk taking more damage than you have to then just stay in the opposite corner from the dragon (Where I go to when I don't make it) and you should only get hit 1 or 2 times, after this when Xaldin is about to jump back to the bridge then keep aerial dodging away as he's about to use another invincible combo or his winds attack which is very hard to avoid, if he uses the combo then repeat what you just did and next time he jumps down from the dragon he'll use winds 100%, when he uses winds then you need alot of distance, he'll come charging at you but stop near you (You should still be running and be on the opposite side of the bridge now), now he can either use winds again (Big problem) or he can teleport 3 times then attack with his lances (The lance attack is the same as the other 2 phases), if he starts teleporting then aerial dodge after he appears for the 1st time whilst spamming triangle and you should avoid the attack and get a few jumps which should be used instantly, if you wait even just a second later you can be hit by another attack and probably die, if he uses winds for a 2nd time then I don't know how to avoid it, I didn't get enough attempts to learn the timing of it, I think you may be able to jump it if you time it right and straight after jumping it you want to aerial dodge out of there asap otherwise you may be on the recieving end of an invincible combo which will kill you. Xaldin can still use the jump attack during this phase which is a great help as it'll drop his HP significantly for you.

That may sound like alot but it's really not that hard, I learnt most of his attacks and how to avoid them in a couple of attempts, only his 2nd phase lance attack and 3rd phase lance and winds attack gave me problems but with the video and description you should get a good idea of how to avoid them.
