The core idea is to move in front of the first block and start a tower with the upwards block and drop down to place the last block. This way you will have longer chains, more explosions, more damage. Also note that you should leave tall blocks for last, so the tower doesn't get too tall. I've later discovered placing a downwards block on top of the upwards block makes it chain better, which explains the bad damage on the 4th clip.
