Previously, Sora and company defeated Jafar in their second visit to Agrabah. He should have known better than to toy with phenomenal cosmic powers. When they arrived in Agrabah the second time, an Absent Silhouette appeared in the Peddler's Shop. The party will go ahead and deal with this Absent Silhouette now.

They start by heading back to the Peddler's Shop (time 2:28). They make preparations for the coming battle. Ice resistance is a good thing to have.

After preparing, the party checks out the Absent Silhouette (time 4:24). They are taken to the front of Twilight Town's Old Mansion. The Chilly Academic, Vexen, appears. He was number 4 in the Organization. Sora defeated him and Axel dispatched him in Castle Oblivion.

After the scene, it is time to fight (time 5:14). In this battle, Vexen uses an emblem on the ground. When it is under Sora, it will read his data over time. Each time the Data bar in the upper left increments, Vexen summons an Anti-Sora duplicate. These duplicates get stronger as the Data bar increments. They are the biggest danger of this battle. The emblem will home in on Sora slowly but relentlessly.

Vexen himself is not the toughest of Organization members. He will attempt to freeze Sora in a block of ice. This is not especially damaging, but when this happens, the emblem will appear directly underneath Sora. Sora must use the reaction commands to break out quickly. The block of ice can be blocked with a timely Reflect. Vexen's snowflake attacks seem mainly designed to slow Sora down. His most damaging attack is a series of icicles that pops out of the ground, but these can be blocked.

A further annoyance is Vexen's ice shield. It must be destroyed before the party can damage him, and only a combo finisher will destroy it. After it is gone, there is time for one or two good combos before Vexen will bring the shield back.

Limits are a good way to deal with both Vexen and the Anti-Sora duplicates, since Sora is invincible while they are active. Whirli-Goof seems pretty useful to use when the duplicates are out.

At the end of the battle, Sora reaches Bonus Level 42 (time 11:01). Sora gains a useful Armor Slot. Donald and Goofy gain boosts to Max HP. Vexen drops the Road to Discovery recipe and a Lost Illusion.

Then, Sora turns in stuff to Mojito the Moogle for synthesis (time 13:40). The Road to Discovery recipe unlocks the Frozen Pride shield under Recipes.

Out in the Bazaar, the party takes care of another Bulky Vendor (time 15:06).

Now, the party can redo the escape from the Desert Ruins for Jiminy's Journal. This is the Magic Carpet minigame. So, they head over to the Ruined Chamber (time 16:13).

The Magic Carpet minigame is begun by touching the monument in the northern end of the Ruined Chamber (time 16:32). The game will now keep track of the number of Heartless Sora clobbers during his escape. For Jiminy's Journal, Sora must defeat at least 65 enemies. This is most of the enemies that appear during the escape, so it poses a decent challenge. Finishing Plus can really help deal with those pesky Fortunetellers.

During the game, Sora reaches Level 44 (time 18:16). He gains a boost to Magic and learns an Air Combo Boost ability.

After a successful execution, Sora clears the minigame with the 65 points needed (time 18:44).

Next, Sora goes through the Cave of Wonders to re-unlock the save points as Gummi destinations (time 20:14).

In the Valley of Stone, Goofy reaches Level 45 (time 21:53).

One of the save points is in Stone Guardians (time 22:14). The other is at the bottom of the Chasm of Challenges (time 22:34).

Afterwards, the party returns to the Peddler's Shop, where Sora will review the new Jiminy's Journal entries for Agrabah (time 23:00).

Next, the party will return to Hollow Bastion to finish off the 100 Acre Wood.
