Still on the default home version difficulty, 3--this is the AES version of The King of Fighters 2000, running from an MVS cart in an "Omega" consolized NEOGEO MVS--but gosh! I especially didn't expect to do super with this team because I tend to get distracted with Joe's many special moves, I've played very little as K', and with Maxima I really only know how to do his big rocket punch over and over. : P
Turns out though that Rocket Punch Maxima is one heck of a clean-up man, even against the big boss, Zero! With help from grabby striker Shermi (that was a lucky random Roulette selection, as it turned out! I don't know if I'd really used her before), he really saved our bacon!
And if I stop worrying about Joe's special moves and just let the attacks flow, he's capable of pretty relentless pressure, and that went a really long way in the battles up to the boss.
So it all worked out to be what I think must be my first single-credit clear (1cc) of the game, at least at a normal difficulty level. : D Woo!
