Okay, you may remember an old vid of mine about Omega Rugal in KOF 98. Well, as it is, I didn't think the quality of that vid was okay, so I recorded a new version of it wih all my little tics and such. Anyway...

1998 came along, and with it came a new KOF. Fans began to notice that something was amiss however. For one thing, the ever so awesome US Sports team where back. Some fans bitched cos they wanted more boy band rejects and effeminate girly boys (And some were racist lol)

Furthermore, they noted the prescence of Vice and Mature, who were by all accounts dead, killed by a psycho Iori.

Whats more, RUGAL was back as well, despite being disintegrated by the power he abused to his own end.

With Rugal came an uber version of himself, in this case, Omega Rugal (Who I can call Omega cos unlike 2002, this Rugal actually has more dangerous looking attacks with cheap priority).

Omega Rugal turned out to be WORSE than any version of Rugal we had came across before. He lost Reppuken and Kaiser Wave and in its place was Gravity Smash, a ball of energy that spun around Rugal's body. He could fire this one off easy.

He also lost God Press and in its place wsa the infinitely more cheap Vanishing Rush,, wherien Rugal sped a distance before damaging the opponent...or was it after?

Encountering Rugal went liek this: Afte rbeating all players, you wen tto a sunken battleship (THEY SUNK HIS BATTLESHIP) and you got a brief glimpse of what seemed to be a stasis tank, before seeing a wall boot up like a computer. Eventually....CRASH. Rugal's arm broke out of its containment. Game time started.

This Rugal looked definitely more dangerous and psycho, as his win picture shows his arms being restrained by a number of wires and his face is a perfect portrait fo madness.

Thsi Rugal had cheap priority UP THE ARSE. GRavity Smash, Vanishing Rush, you name it, he's got it.

Apparently he's meant to be WORSE in 98 Ultimate Match, as he's FASTER. Oh god.

In the event that you BEAT the bastard, he proceeds to set off the self destruct on his already destroyed boat (redundant much?). Your players escape with the assisstance of a helicopter (No doubt sent by Heidern so he could steal all the credit and take all the reward)

Players of the Arcade version were sadly unable to fight fire with fire, since Omega Rugal was unplayable there (Though that version lacks the epic Dead End Screamer).

Players who owned the Neo Geo Home version however got very lucky indeed. It was ludicrously EASY to pick Omega Rugal, jsut hold down the Start button when highlighting him. Oh yeah and the same is true for the PS2 version, 98 Ultimate Match, this time you hold select when hghlighting Normal Rugal. Easy peasy, eh? We're not sure if he's as cheap as Orochi or cheaper, though we know Goenitz trumps them all easy.

So you want his moves, eh? Okay.

Gravity Smash: QCF and any punch: This move is awesome since the energy ball covers Rugal's whole body firstly. It can't break guards, sadly, but it was nice as a defense measure, if someone fires a Haoh Sho Koh Ken at you (HAI WILDTENGU LOL)

Vanishing Rush: HCB and any punch: In lieu of God Press, Rugal stood there glowing with some strange power, before dashing forward at teh speed of light, ripping through you, as you proceeded to take vast amounts of damage.Worse, its fast, so you can expect this move ot be spammed to the nines.

Reflector: QCF and any kick:Relatively unchanged

Genocide Cutter:Forward, Dwon, Down-Forward and any kick: Somewhat unchanged...oh, wait, OMEGA Rugal adds an extra kick to teh Genocide Cutter.

DESPERATION MOVES: Gigantic PRessure: QCF, HCBa nd any punch: God Press with skull pillar? YES PLEASE. Teh SDM version adds a second attack.

G-End: QCFx2 and any punch: Rugal stabs you with his hand and proceeds to inject you with some of that fine tasty Omega goodness. And contrary to what TV Tropes once said, it does NOT restore Rugal's health. Barely ANYONE does the research there anymore. Sad, eh? THIS move is what seperates 98 Omega Rugal from 2002 NOT-Omega Rugal

Destruction Omega: QCFx2 and any kick: Once Rugal grabs you....you're going for a RIDE!

Expect some changes should I ever get my hands on 98 UM.I do know that btoh Rugals have a special intro with goenitz where Goenitz says his usual iintro quote while Rugal kneels painfully...before standing up and laughing, with blood coming from his eye. So yeah.

This shows what seperates this Omega Rugal (The REAL Omega Rugal) from the fake Omega Rugal i 2002, which doesn't have ANY Omega traits save for instant Kaisers and a rubbish HSDM/MAX2 and therefore does not deserve the Omega label.
