0'Kong: Skull Island' is the 2nd instalment in the Monsterverse and the 11th Instalment In the King Kong Franchise. Set in 1973 during the Vietnam War, it follows a group of scientists onto skull island and meeting Kong aswell as many other Terrifying species.
Kong Skull Island is quite a simple concept: A Vietnam war era set film, focusing on the habits of Skull Island and King Kong. I liked this one, even if it isn't quite as beautifully crafted as the 1933 or the 2005 King Kong film. But for a Monsterverse film? It's how one should be done. And here's how Kong: Skull Island does what a Monsterverse does to be a great film in the franchise.
