Princess Lyssa, the soon-to-be Queen of Krull, has chosen Prince Colwyn to be her King. Unfortunately, Lyssa is kidnapped by The Slayers, The Beast's army.
Before searching for Lyssa, Colwyn will have to find a weapon... the Glaive, a 5-bladed throwing star that returns to its user like a boomerang. Its 5 pieces are strewn about a mountain and need to be gathered while avoiding rockslides. Colwyn uses it to fight off spear-throwing Slayers, getting his army together and leading them to the Hexagon (AKA the Black Fortress) for a last battle with the fireball-shooting Beast.
There is a "buzz" bonus for near-misses with rocks in the first stage. Krull is played with a twin-stick setup like Robotron, Smash TV, or Nex Machina. Not bad, even if there's a lack of variety in enemy types.
