L4D2 Addon: Infinite Ammo Mutations
1This addon gives you two new co-op mutations to play with. In different ways, they both give you infinite ammo. Given that these are mutations, you can use them and still get achievements.
Bottomless Gun (bottomless-gun)
Any weapon you pick up will never run out of ammo, no matter what. You can hold the trigger and unleash an unrelenting stream of bullets toward the infected. The chainsaw is also infinite. Special ammo is still limited to one clip. You cannot have infinite special ammo without changing clip sizes. That has to be done outside of a mutation, to my knowledge. Trust me, I wanted to make a mode where you start with infinite incendiary ammo.
This is accomplished by changing the cvars of sv_infinite_ammo and sv_infinite_primary_ammo to 1. One silent note is that if you respawn in a closet, you keep all your weapons.
Limitless Reserve (limitless-reserve)
All guns have standard clip sizes. However, you never seem to run out of reserve ammo in your pocket. Enough though you have to reload once your clip is empty, you'll never be without ammo for your weapon.
How it works is that the cvars of [weaponclass]_ammo_max were changed to -2, which is how the pistol weapons have unlimited backup ammo. For example, "autoshotgun_ammo_max -2." Survivors also respawn with all weapons.
No other mods seen in the video are related to the mod being demonstrated.
