L4D2: Situation Causes Chapter to Restart
2I was dead, another friend was incapacitated above ground, while the other two friends were down in the sewer unable to reach him. I came up with the idea for them to go idle in hopes that the bots would teleport them to the incapacitated player. Shortly after, my character appears in a survivor closet and gets rescued by one of the bots. Despite walking around, my game lags, and we suddenly find ourselves back at the safe room.
If you listen, you can hear the failure music play shortly after the incapacitated player died, though it gets cut off after I get rescued from the closet. It seems that the game counts idle players as bots, and will cause a game failure if all present human players are dead, even if one gets revived in the time it takes to restart the level.
