This is the eleventh part of the La-Mulana streamed playthrough. In this part, I finally clear all the guardians, and pave the way for the final main puzzle of the game, the Mantras.

I finally find out how to unlock Skanda, which was to dance the Dance of Life in the right location. With this miniboss down I got the Pochette Key, the final piece needed to fight Palenque. However, in getting to Palenque's chamber, I found I needed one crucial thing: the Ankh! I had to unlock a mural in the place where there are eight platforms in a diamond, and use the Pochette Key there to unlock the Ankh, it turns out.

Oh and as a side note I collect the Vessel, this will be needed for the final puzzle.

The fight with Palenque was pretty crazy. He is in his strange airship thing, with lots of lasers and fireballs and other projectiles all over the place. In order to get the achievement where I beat all the guardians without using sub-weapons on them, I ended up hovering just above his head and using the Katana in order to win. He changes his level often, so this tactic is risky, but he doesn't have a huge amount of health so it works out in the end.

In the Dimensional Corridor, I clean up nine of the minibosses in total. The tenth is a flying creature that can sometimes fire a jet of water that reaches high up into the room, this can allow you to reach an area with a Sacred Orb just above. The jumping can be tricky, there are lots of spikes to avoid, and I unfortunately failed several times before I managed to do this. In the Shrine of the Mother I also collect the final Sacred Orb, raising my maximum health to the highest it can go.

With this, I could beat the 10th of Tiamat's children. The last requires a puzzle which has clues scattered around the ruins, the most notable two in the Inferno Cavern, which described the procedure to activate the points in the rooms in the Dimensional Corridor, and the other in the Tower of Ruin (Snapshot needed to examine), which tells of the order you need to activate them in. By triggering all four points in the four rooms in the clues, and you get to the final miniboss.

With all that out of the way, Tiamat appears as our final guardian fight. She stands above you with arms on either side, firing lasers and orbs towards Lemeza. The axe is godly for hitting her head. The first cycle starts simply, but the second introduces a water attack, which you need to avoid by going under a platform.

The final phase is the most tricky. Once she uses the water attack again she fires some nasty lasers. I tried to outrun but failed, but this demonstrates how much damage they can do. However, I can avoid the lasers by using Caltrops, take a small bit of damage from them to use the invincibility time to avoid the laser damage. Keep mashing the head and she goes down in no time. Pretty intense way to finish up the fight and the video for the day.

Next time, I have the puzzle of the mantras to solve, the final main puzzle in order to fight the final boss, the soul of the Mother herself. Can I do it all in one session? Tune in next time, same bat time, same bat channel!!!
