Transformers Beyond Reality PSVR2 First Impressions - Lacking Innovation and Soul
Transformers Beyond Reality is a new PSVR2 game that puts you in the cockpit of a Cybertronian jet fighter, soaring through the skies and battling other Transformers. While the game is visually impressive, I found it to be lacking in innovation and soul.
The gameplay is essentially a rail shooter, with you moving forward automatically and shooting enemies that come into view. There is some dodging involved, but the overall experience is fairly mindless. The boss battles are a bit more challenging, but they are still relatively simple.
The game's visuals are its biggest strength. The Transformers models are detailed and well-animated, and the environments are lush and colorful. However, the game's performance can be choppy at times, especially in the more hectic battles.
Overall, I found Transformers Beyond Reality to be a disappointing experience. It's a visually impressive rail shooter, but it lacks innovation and soul. If you're a big fan of Transformers, you may still enjoy the game, but I would recommend waiting for a sale before picking it up.
