--- INFO ---
In this video I'm comparing the flight dynamics and modelling in X-Plane 11 vs. Prepar3D V4. Trying to land at Gibraltar Airport in similar weather conditions.
Please note: I'm just handflying and dead reckoning these approaches and landings. Since the PMDG 737's systems are far more advanced, it doesn't make sense to compare FMS and navigation stuff. I'm just trying to compare the handling characteristics of both of these airplanes (so don't complain about not seeing vREF speeds etc....)
And yes, as you can see, the flight dynamics and flight modelling is way different in X-Plane. Setting the same (at least very similar) weather conditions in X-Plane 11 as in Prepar3D V4 already provides very different results by itself.
Whether Prepar3D V4 or X-Plane 11 is more realistic? I don't know. I'm not a real world pilot, I can't tell. All I can say is, juding from flying a full-sized 737 sim, watching cockpit/spotting videos, and flying as an passenger: X-Plane 11's weather effects seem to be a bit exaggerated (at least looking at the way it affects the Zibo 737), while in Prepar3D V4 the weather effects seem to be a bit too weak. When using Active Sky in Prepar3D V4 it would have probably been better, but it would have been hard to compare the two sims that way.
